The Mužlja Crackling Festival (Mužljanski festival čvaraka) is a hugely popular and lively gastronomic event held every February in Mužlja, a vibrant suburb of Zrenjanin.

The main attraction of the festival is a high-energy competition where dozens of teams gather in the open air to render pork fat in traditional copper cauldrons, competing to make the perfect “čvarak” —crispy, golden-brown pork cracklings that melt in the mouth. The event showcases the authentic culinary traditions of the Banat region, drawing thousands of visitors who come to taste the hot, freshly made cracklings alongside other homemade winter delicacies like sausages, hurka, and local wines. Wrapped in a cheerful winter atmosphere, the festival is packed with traditional folklore performances, live music, and a colorful market, making it an absolute favorite for food lovers.
