The Cabbage Festival is a traditional agricultural and tourist event held every year in September in Mrčajevci. The event has been organized since 2002 for three days, always on the third weekend in September. The event has competitive feature – competitors prepare cabbage from an earthen pot, the so-called “svadbarski kupus” (eng. wedding cabbage). Special attention at the Cabbage Festival in Mrčajevci is given to cabbage producers and those who want to learn more about cabbage through expert meetings on new varieties, production technology, processing and marketing of cabbage and cabbage products.

The program of the Cabbage Festival includes agricultural exhibitions, exhibitions of mechanization, equipment and protective equipment, and fruit and vegetable products, as well as a competition in preparing cabbage dishes. Accompanying events include a rich cultural and artistic program with concerts by famous folk and pop artists, the National Orchestra and numerous folklore ensembles.
